Abyss is the result of many years of academic research, data collection and analysis.
Our service packages combine both academic research and practical experience. Both during her academic research as well as within her career as an ABS consultant, our founder Dr. Ayşegül Sırakaya engaged with many stakeholders of ABS, such as provider country regulators, communities, academic researchers, collection holders, user countries, biotech, agricultural and pharmaceutical companies. Her research analysed the experiences, opinions, thoughts, laws and policies of providers and users of genetic resources. Our carefully crafted service packages stem from her research in many countries of both Global South and Global North asking them their pressing needs from the ABS system and where they need the help the most.
